IPC/WHMA-A-620 has been developed to support the segment of the electronics industry that uses crimped and soldered wire assemblies as well as securing of wire harnesses.
It is important to ensure the required quality level. This can be achieved by ensuring that the operators know and comply with the requirements of IPC/WHMA-A-620.
In this trainer course the participants are trained and certified as CIT (Certified IPC Trainers) who are qualified to perform company internal training of operators (Certified IPC Specialists - CIS). These operators will be assessing approval-, rejection- and process indication-limits within the three classifications in the IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard.
The certificateis valid for two years, and grants access to online training material for the training course.
Please note! To qualify for renewal, a CIT shall conduct at leastone (1) IPC CIS course a year. The CIT must train a minimum of 5 CIS candidates during their twenty-four-month certification period
The following items will be theoretically reviewed during the certification:
· Introduction and procedures
· Purpose,interpretation and application of IPC/WHMA-A-620
· Preparation of wires
· Soldering of wire connections
· Crimping wire connections (manual and automatic)
· IDC – Insulation Displacement Connection (connectors)
· Splicing of wires
· Connector assembly
· Molded connectors
· Cable assemblies(dimensions and tolerances)
· Marking /requirements for legibility
· Coaxial and Twinaxial joints / flexible and semi-rigid (crimping and soldering)
· Securing cable or harness
· Protective covering / electrical shielding of harness
· Mechanical protection of cable harness
· Mechanical assembly
The course is aimed at process engineers, quality engineers, designers, and operators who need to demonstrate a documented knowledge on how to train operators in accordance with the requirements in IPC/WHMA-A-620.
