The ECSS-Q-ST-70-07, ECSS-Q-ST-70-08 and ECSS-Q-ST-70-38 standards have been superseded and replaced by ECSS-Q-ST-70-61.
The certification qualifies participants to interpret the specifications of ESA standard ECSS-Q-ST-70-61 (ECSS-Q-ST-70-08 and ECSS-Q-ST-70-38) so that they can inspect assemblies and solder connections according to the standard and make the right decisions. When the participants have passed a practical and theoretical test, an approved ESA Inspector certificate is issued, which is valid for two years.
The basis for the certification is ESA specification ECSS-Q-ST-70-61, 'High reliability assembly for surface mount and through hole connections' (replaces ECSS-Q-ST-70-08C and ECSS-Q-ST-70-38).
