The ECSS-Q-ST-70-07, ECSS-Q-ST-70-08 and ECSS-Q-ST-70-38 standards have been superseded and replaced by ECSS-Q-ST-70-61.
The certification provides participants with theoretical and practical knowledge of various repair and modification methods and the requirements for operational reliability, quality and control in ECSS-Q-ST-70-28. Participation in the certification requires a valid ESA certificate in ESA Handsoldering for both HMT and SMT according to ECSS-Q-ST-70-61. When the participants have passed a practical and theoretical test, an approved ESA certificate is issued, which is valid for two years.
The basis for the certification is the ESA and European space specification ECSS-Q-ST-70-28, 'The repair and modification of printed-circuit board assemblies for space use'.
The practical part of the certification focuses on strengthening the practical skills and techniques that are absolutely necessary to be able to repair and modify electronic equipment and printed circuit boards according to ESA requirements.
